Here we report a case of patients with mixed ground glass opacity in the left lung combined with congenital right aortic arch, which is only present in 0.01–0.1% of adults.
Many studies explored the impact of ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) period with conflicting results. Functional residual capacity or End Expiratory Lung Volume (EELV) may be disturbed after car...
The characteristics are still unclear due to lack of systematic research on patients with myocardial infarction non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) in China. This study aimed to explore the clinical and...
Approximately 80% of patients with blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI) die before reaching the hospital. Most people who survive the initial injury eventually die without appropriate treatment. This study anal...
Acute aortic regurgitation (AR) is uncommon condition and usually results in an emergent situation because the left ventricle does not adapt quickly due to a sudden increase in end-diastolic volume caused by t...
Major vessels of the mediastinum such as the superior vena cava (SVC) and bilateral innominate veins can occasionally become involved with aggressive tumors or the mediastinum, including non-small cell lung cancer and thymoma. This may result in partial or complete obstruction. With presentation of these tumors symptoms can often be debilitating and would otherwise be treated with palliative therapy. A select population of patients are candidates for tumor resection. The ability to perform an...
The degeneration of heart valve bioprostheses due to calcification processes is caused by the intercalation of calciumhydroxyapatite in pericardium collagen bundles. Variations of the protein secondary structure of biomaterials according to preparation are relevant for this mineralization process and thus the structural characterization of innovative bioprostheses materials is of great importance. The gold standard for prostheses preparation is glutaraldehyde (GA)-fixation of bovine pericardium...
CONCLUSIONS: The TTM-AMLE is a safe and effective surgical approach for selected patients with HOCM. In our series, it provides excellent relief of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, while significantly eliminating mitral regurgitation. The early outcomes of TTM-AMLE are satisfactory, but further studies and longer follow-ups are awaited.
Surgical resection is the most effective curative management of benign rib tumors and carries an excellent prognosis. Due to complex anatomy and narrow field, higher rib resection is technically demanding and ...
To analyse and summarize branching pattern types of the interlobar portion of right pulmonary arteries (RPA) through chest thin-slice CT scans and three-dimensional reconstruction.
